We had some friends visit from the US. They are on a sabbatical and spending part of it traveling through Europe with their little boy, Calvin. Sarah announced that of all the men in Europe, men in Spain won for style and hair. And they decided to get Calvin's first haircut in Spain; previously Sarah had cut his hair herself. The barber spent about an hour on his hair and only charged 14eu. See his transformation, complete with little car.
Griffin has had 2 haircuts since we arrived here. With the first one he was trying to emulate the surfer style he had at home. But the barber was not sure what to do with his very thick, curly hair. So he started the Spanish transition, with an undercut, almost shaved on the sides and back and longer on top. As it started to grow out, he was less happy about it and decided he wanted to visit the barber who did Calvin's hair so carefully. She spent just as much time on Griffin's hair as she did on Calvin's, but he was disappointed that didn't get to sit in the tiny car. He is happy with his cut, although I am not happy that it makes him look taller and older, ha! And more Spanish.
